Every organization within the automotive supply chain is obliged to ensure the safety and conformity of its products. To this end, in the respective countries and regions current legal statutes on product integrity must be observed, also the justifiable safety expectations of the general public must be fulfilled. With products conspicuously “unsafe” in the market, or whose conformity to legal requirements is questionable, those responsible are obliged to initiate the necessary actions. Along with the release of VDA Volume Product Integrity, Volkswagen and BMW Group already updated their requirements for suppliers (click to know more), that suppliers in their database should nominate a Product Safety & Conformity Representative (PSCR). 

How to become a qualified PSCR:

For trainees can take 2-day “Product Safety & Conformity Representative (PSCR) (ID 503)” training (Public Training fee: 5,000 RMB/person, VAT included)

After completed participating training above, as well as successful passing the knowledge test, the participant will receive a PSCR qualification certificate issued by VDA QMC China. The certificate are accepted by Volkswagen Group China and BMW China.

Transition Arrangements for the Upgrade of the Current PSCR Training

After September 30, 2026, the current PSCR training will no longer be offered. Please plan your certification timeline based on your team's needs:

• Urgent Needs: If you or your organization requires qualification in the near term, please ensure you register for and complete a training session scheduled on or before September 30, 2026.

• Non-Urgent Needs: Wait for the upgraded training, launching tentatively in November. Please stay tuned for official follow-up announcements regarding exact schedules.

However, diversified markets, product variants and complex supply chains make these requirements difficult to navigate. If product safety and conformity are not ensured, this can threaten the very existence of the entire company. These challenges should therefore be addressed not only in relation to individual products, but systematically at organizational level – with a Product Compliance System (PCS).

This upgrade establishes a more systematic and tiered advanced learning path. Key changes include:

• New Prerequisite: Going forward, completing Product Compliance System (PCS) (ID 534) is a required prerequisite before registering for Product Safety & Conformity Representative (PSCR) (ID 503) or Product Safety & Conformity Representative – Upgrade (ID 536).

• Certificate Upgrade: Existing certificate holders will need to complete the Product Safety & Conformity Representative – Upgrade (ID 536) to align their credentials with the new standard.
